What is sustainable
A broad subject, sustainability is the focus on natural systems, particularly within the realm of economics, philosophy and social sciences. To be sustainable is to consider our role within a consumerist climate. To be sustainable is to maintain awareness of our natural environment while navigating modern civilisation and culture.
why did you go vegan
I went vegan for three main reasons:
The animals - I am not theirs and they are not mine.
The world - Eating a plant based diet is a sure way to reduce your carbon footprint.
The body - I feel healthier and cleaner on a plant based diet.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not easy. These are my choices, and my choices alone, and I do not condemn others for their choices. We decide how to make a difference, and this is my way.
what is ethical
Ethics can be broken down into three parts: deontological, teleological and virtue-based. The first two are action based theories on morality. The latter looks less at the rules, and more at virtue. This part of ethics argues that one can learn to be better, that there is a possibility to become a better person through developing particular character traits. Many Virtue Theorists look into the ability of changing ones bad habits (called vices) to become a ‘better person’.
